A Precious Phone Call

We've had an amazing day. Pearl was very tired when she was brought to us but as soon as she had her nap, we were able to see lots of smiles. We're going to download a picture of her smile in a short while and you'll see what we learned today - Pearl has two beautiful dimples! It's exciting to learn more about her and it's a sweet joy to see our four daughters interact with each other.

Something very special happened this evening. Right when we were bathing the girls, Pearl's foster mother called the hotel to see how she was adjusting. She doesn't speak English and we don't speak Spanish but the kind concierge translated the conversation for us. Our foster mother just wanted to make sure Pearl was adjusting well and wanted to know if we had any questions for her. She also asked us to give Pearl hugs and kisses from her. We have known that Pearl is our daughter for 4 1/2 months and not a day has gone by where we have not wondered about the person taking care of her. Is she kind? Is she affectionate? Does she sing to her? Our concerns were relieved this evening. The new prayer request is for our dear foster mom, Angelica. We pray that when the time comes for Pearl to come home to us, Angelica will have peace and comfort when she has to say "goodbye" to the daughter she has known and raised since she was a week old. We can't wait for the day when we can tell Pearl all about her foster mother.

Now it's time to settle down for the evening. We found out that Pearl has trouble falling asleep at night and does awaken in the night frequently. We're just thankful to know all these wonderful details! Once again, these are questions we've been wondering about since the day we received our referral!

Thank you all again for your love. Friends, you have been so good to us and we thank God for your friendships. Have a wonderful evening!

Love,
Susan
