Three wonderful weeks

It's been three weeks since Pearl was put into our arms forever. So much has happened in her little life during this short time span. The obvious of course is that she left her foster family and came to be with us which is a huge transition for anybody, let alone a child experiencing developmental separation anxiety. But on top of this, she has battled a nasty virus, a relentless head cold, vaccines and bloodwork, a formula switch, introduction of solid foods, having three big sisters and her newest exciting challenge - her first two teeth have come in! Why is this exciting? Because we believe God decided to wait for her teeth to come in so we could experience this milestone in her life. It may not seem like a big deal, but it literally broke skin four days after she arrived home. They were just waiting so we could see her big toothless grin become a big grin with two little white sprouts. Another huge milestone she was waiting to accomplish just for us to see - Pearl can sit up all by herself! Three weeks ago, she could barely hold her head up without support and now she is sitting up for long period of times. What a big girl!
Pearl Elizabeth is an absolute joy to have home with us. Everyone is adapting well and it feels like she has been a part of our family forever.
