Our First Trip

Hello Friends!

It's hard to believe we leave tomorrow to begin our journey to Guatemala. To say we are excited is putting it very mildly. On Tuesday morning, we'll be holding Pearl in our arms!
A few people have asked us to post specific prayer requests and our itinerary. Thank you again for your love and support.

Please pray:

1. Safety! Safe travels in the car, in the airplane, on our visits in Guatemala, etc.
2. Health - please pray that we won't encounter any health problems when we travel. We've all been vaccinated, we have plenty of medication, etc. but we are praying for 100% health as we travel.
3. There is a possibility we will encounter attachment issues with Pearl. Please pray she'll have peace and comfort with us.
4. Please pray for us when we have to say goodbye to our little Pearl on Saturday for obvious reasons.
5. Please pray that while we are away (the sooner the better) we will exit PGN, which is one of the last steps on the Guatemalan side of the adoption. We are ready to move forward and have Pearl home forever. As soon as we get "out" of PGN, she could be home in about 5 weeks.

Itinerary:

Sunday, July 22: We will drive to Boca Raton, Florida early Sunday morning.
Monday, July 23: We have a short drive to Fort Lauderdale airport and fly out at 6:10 PM.
Tuesday, July 24: Our attorney or agency staff will bring Pearl to us in the morning.
Saturday, July 28: Pearl will be picked up at noon.
Saturday, July 28: We meet with Asofamilia, an organization that helps assist birth families to discuss needs and also bring many of the items our friends and families have donated!
Saturday, July 28: In the afternoon, we will be driving to Antigua, Guatemala.
Monday, July 30: In the morning, we are visiting Mayan women outside of Antigua, Guatemala.
Wednesday, August 1: We will leave Antigua, Guatemala and head back to Guatemala City early in the morning. At 10:30 AM Amando A Los Ninos (Bethany Christian Orphanage) is picking us up at our hotel and we are spending the day visiting children at the orphanage. We will deliver the items you donated for the precious sibling set at this time. This is a new orphanage so their needs are great.
Thursday, August 2: We will fly out of Guatemala City at 7:40 AM. Our flight arrives at 12:05. We may drive straight through but most likely we'll stop in SC or GA.

We are bringing a laptop so we'll try and post pictures and any news. Thank you!

We love you,
Jack and Susan
